Coffee can cut risk of developing Type 2 diabetes

Drinking 3 to 4 cups coffee a day can cut the risk of developing type 2 diabetes according to a new study.
2 compounds can contribute to health benefit namely cafestol and caffeic acid. These increase insulin secretion when glucose is added.Cafestol increased glucose uptake in muscle cells.According to lead researcher Siren Gregersen from Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark, cafestol's dual benefits make it a good candidate for Type 2 diabetes treatment and prevention. Several lifestyle risk factors are linked to diabetes development but coffee prevents onset of this disease.
