Now railways will have all blankets washed after every use instead of 2 times a month

Now blankets will be washed after every use. Dirty blankets(blankets washed 2 times a month) will become a thing of the past.And the blankets are being designed by NIFT(National Institute of Fashion Technology) which are light weight made of soft fabric. The blankets are mix of wool and cotton.

The washable blankets will be used in a few selected premier trains to begin with and later more trains will be covered.State of the art laundries will wash bedrolls,including blankets.

Clean My Coach facility has been launched

'Clean My Coach' facility has been launched by Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu.According to this service, passenger will have to send train,boggy and seat number on 58989 by SMS.Online Passengers will send message to 'On Board House Keeping Service' workers.
Workers will come to clean after some time.

Platform ticket booking to go online

Now Platform ticket booking will go online.
Railway minister announced that the booking of platform tickets can now be done online.It will first be started in Delhi and Mumbai.
